Oncolgy Massage

Oncology massage is a restorative massage given by a specially educated massage therapist who will ask the client questions about their diagnosis, treatment and any side-effects they are experiencing. If a client has had lymph nodes removed and/or radiated, they are at a life-long risk of lymphedema, (swelling in one arm or leg) and need to always ask for an oncology educated therapist.

While oncology massage does not “fix” anything, it can definitely help with the side effects of cancer treatments, and lead to a greater sense of well-being. This is achieved by modifying the pace and pressure of the massage, making sure to use proper direction of strokes, and activating the parasympathetic nervous system.
