Myofascial Massage

Myofascial massage deals with connective tissue in the body called Fascia. Fascia in different forms surrounds and supports muscle, bone, nerves, and organs throughout the body. Myofascial techniques use slow sustained pressure along the plane of the fascia and can be helpful in restoring the proper resting length of muscle. This encourages balance in opposing muscles and can release restrictions and pain. Your therapist will do an interview and their experienced palpation skills to determine the areas that will benefit most from treatment. Often the area that needs the most focus is not the area that hurts the most. These techniques are often integrated with other types of massage.
